Pirate leader Rick Falkvinge gives a TED talk on how a person can start and nurture a growing political movement. He also mentions many of the inconvenient truths about copyright enforcement on the Internet. Excellent talk.

The very concept of copyright is under attack in a way it has never been before. What went wrong with copyright?

The world has changed around it. Copying and sharing information has become so easy, anyone can do it. The idea that information has become post-scarce and nearly limitless is often called the information age. Is the information age and copyright law hopelessly incompatible?

Fundamentally this blog will examine copyright law from the perspective of how it conflicts with the modern world. It will also examine the information age as a whole and how it changes the nature of personal dealings.

Many copyright blogs focus on the past, bringing up arguments from the 18th century to prove their points. This one will focus on the future, the implications of copyright in a world with widespread access to copying technology and communications technology via the Internet.

It will discuss new technology like 3D printing and nanotechnology and how copyright's intentions will further become obscured as the world's technology improves and we move further from scarcity.
